***UPDATED ANNOUNCEMENT  -  March 3, 2020  ***

With Governor DeWine’s March 23rd “Stay at Home” directive, EyeShop is now closed to all routine care effective Monday, March 23rd at 5pm.

Temporary office hours will be Monday through Friday 10am to 3pm.  During this time we will be readily available for emergency eye care, as well as the dispensing of contact lenses and eyeglasses.

Stay safe and see you again soon.

Dear EyeShop family,

The world is experiencing an unprecedented event.  As a healthcare provider, I take my role in the community very seriously. We've seen our schools come together to make the best possible decisions for the safety and success of our children. Local businesses and government organizations are banding together to help us through.  Never have I been prouder to be a member of the Lewis Center community.

I have always stated that you are more than just a pair of eyes, you are a PERSON.  At EyeShop, we're always here for you to provide a "different" kind of eye care experience.  However, that experience will need to change a bit in the coming weeks, but rest assured, we are HERE.

What will this new patient experience look like?

Based on the increased spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and heightened community recommendations to lessen its impact, we will begin purposefully spacing out (i.e., 'social distancing') all office visits, eye exams, and/or eye emergency appointments in a manner by which only one patient will be present within EyeShop at a time.

Over the next two weeks, all EyeShop visits will operate under a "private, by appointment only" protocol.  Think of it as concierge service, meaning that during your pre-scheduled visit there will be limited contact with other public community members.  Only EyeShop staff and the doctor will be present.  In short, EyeShop is all yours for that time, for your eye health to be served in a manner that makes all of us comfortable and safe.

What else is EyeShop doing?

We love our office space and we hope that you do too.  Each and every day EyeShop employs stringent cleaning and maintenance measures to keep our patients safe.  Between patient exams all medical equipment is disinfected.  Additionally, all surfaces in the office are disinfected multiple times throughout the day.  All frames are disinfected after each patient has tried them on, and all frames pass through a thorough cleaning process before reaching the showroom or bags for patient pickup.

How can I schedule an appointment at EyeShop?

The best answer is to give us a call.  A friendly staff member or even a friendly Dr. Sayers will be readily available during office hours to plan a time for your private appointment and answer any questions you may have.

Once again, please be aware that during this two-week period (from March 23rd to April 6th), all visits to EyeShop will be private, by appointment only.

When can I visit EyeShop?

Beginning Monday, March 23rd our new temporary office hours will be Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, this schedule allows us to remain readily available to you, especially in an emergent situation. Keeping emergent eye issues from overwhelming the hospitals and urgent cares is just another way we are looking out for our community.

But wait, what if my contact lens prescription is expiring?

Again, we're here for you.  Temporarily, we will extend contact lens prescriptions for a brief period of time.  If you are in need of contact lenses, please contact the office and we will work with you.

So what's next?

Most important, EyeShop patients are family.  So please take care.  We do ask that if you are potentially at-risk for or experiencing COVID-19 coronavirus symptoms, please postpone any routine eye care needs until a later date.

Over the next few days, we will be contacting all currently scheduled patients in order to reschedule appointments to align with our "private, by appointment only" protocol.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may provide, but we are looking out for our EyeShop family and what we believe to be in all our best interests.  We will be in close contact as things develop.  And thanks so much for your support during this difficult time for us all.  We'll be back to Dessert Fridays and Lollipop Days in no time.

As always, feel free to call 740-549-1800 or email: with any questions.
