EYESHOP officially open to routine care
beginning Monday, May 11th.

*** UPDATED - April 28, 2020 ***
** COVID-19 Coronavirus Announcement **

Dear EyeShop family:

As we continue to band together in response to the COVID-19 virus, it is our sincere hope that you are safe and doing well.  Our shared community spirit of care and perseverance has been inspiring to witness, although we’re eager and excited to move forward with our daily lives and experiences.

Reopening Update

Based on the April 27th Governor’s press conference announcement, healthcare will now begin reopening to routine care.  Beyond instituting all State recommendations, EyeShop staff has been hard at work on additional preparations so that we can confidently, safely, and effectively provide you the eye care services that you need.

Patient Experience

The EyeShop experience that you’ve come to expect will be enhanced further with several precautionary measures.  As detailed in earlier communications, over the coming weeks, visits to EyeShop will be “by appointment only”.  This is so that we may maintain proper social distancing in the office, as well as to allow ample opportunity to execute appropriate disinfecting procedures between patient appointments.

Scheduling Process

Our patient visit schedule will officially open up to routine care beginning Monday, May 11th.  Soon we will be contacting patients who had previously scheduled appointments cancelled in order to reschedule.  In the meantime, however, for all others the office is now open and ready for your next routine visit. Please feel free to contact the office directly at 740-549-1800 or visit us online to schedule your appointment.

Visit Protocols

Please be aware and confident that several new protocols are now in place to keep you (and us) safe.

  1. Adhering to the ‘by appointment only’ protocol, all patients visiting EyeShop MUST have a previously scheduled appointment.  Additionally, we ask that you come alone.  Minors or those needing assistance may bring one additional person.
  2. All patients will be required to wear a protective face mask while in our office. Our staff and doctor will also be required to wear a mask at all times.
  3. All patients will be subject to a no-touch, infrared temperature check and Covid-19 symptom questionnaire upon arrival.  Patients who have flu-like symptoms or have been in recent contact with a Covid-19 patient will be asked to reschedule for a later date.
  4. All patients will be asked to use provided hand sanitizer before and after your visit.
  5. We will provide ALL patients the opportunity to check in online and we encourage you to do so to avoid additional touch points in the office space.
  6. Patients browsing and trying on eyeglasses will be given a personal tray for which to place all product so that it can be appropriately disinfected before and after each patient visit.
  7. As always, all EyeShop equipment and medical instruments are thoroughly disinfected between each patient exam.  We will be taking this a step further where ALL surfaces including door handles, chairs and stools, dispensing tables, etc. will be disinfected between each patient visit.
  8. There will be no NEW contact lens fittings (those requiring insertion and removal training) during the month of May. Training requires a significant amount of “face-touching”.  New contact lens fittings will be scheduled for a later date.
  9. If you are a patient that is high risk or simply just not ready to venture out into the world, we will continue extending contact lens prescriptions for those expiring within the next month.

Office Hours

Once again, EyeShop will officially open up to routine care beginning Monday, May 11th.  At this time, office hours from May 11th to May 31st will be Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.  As we adjust to our new normal, previous traditional hours of Monday through Friday, 9am to 7pm; and Saturday, 9am to 2pm, will resume beginning June 1st.

We very much look forward to welcoming you back to EyeShop.  You’ve been missed!
